YouTube unveils new AI-powered tools for creators

Going big on  AI, YouTube has launched an array of AI tools designed to enhance the content creation process for artists and creators. While some of these tools are already available, others are scheduled for release in the coming months.

Here are the 5 AI-enabled features being introduced to the Youtube ecosystem:

  1. Dream Screen

This will enable creators of YouTube Shorts to generate videos or backgrounds by typing an idea into a prompt. This feature will be available to Short creators at a later date

Also, YouTube has shared a remarkable milestone for its TikTok rival, YouTube Shorts. The platform now garners 70 billion daily views; up from the 50 billion views recorded in January.

  1. YouTube Create

This marks YouTube's response to TikTok's CapCut, the short-form video editing app popular among content creators. YouTube Create includes features like precision editing and trimming, automated captioning, voiceover capabilities, an extensive library of filters, effects, transitions, and royalty-free music that incorporates beat-matching technology, etc.

YouTube emphasizes that content produced with its Create app will be optimized on the main YouTube ecosystem. Currently, the app is available for beta testing on Android devices in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Singapore, and South Korea.

  1. Aloud

This is an AI-powered instant dubbing tool that allows creators to dub their videos in multiple languages. This tool, currently available to a select group of users, is undergoing testing in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

  1. AI assistant for Creator Music audio library

With this, Creators will be able to type in a search query and the AI assistant will offer suggestions for the right music at the right place in their video.

  1. Generative AI

This feature is similar to Ripple, a tool owned by Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok.

From next year, YouTube Studio will incorporate generative AI technology, enhancing the creative process for creators by generating video ideas and draft outlines. Leveraging insights from viewer analytics, this tool will offer suggestions for future video concepts, even recommending specific focal points that creators can address to optimize viewership potential. Currently, YouTube is in the testing phase of this tool, collaborating with creators to fine-tune its features.

Recently, YouTube joined forces with Universal Music Group to collaboratively create AI tools that provide secure, responsible, and lucrative opportunities for the music industry. This partnership will see YouTube establish a "Music AI Incubator", aimed at fostering AI-driven initiatives in collaboration with artists and the music industry.
