You Can Now Watch Asake’s Music Videos as Spotify Launches Latest Update in Kenya

The Beta launch is accompanied by a limited catalog that includes records from global artists such as Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, as well as local favorites like Aluna and Asake.

Until recently, you could only listen to music on Spotify, but sooner, you’ll have the option of watching music videos on the platform. Yesterday, Spotify launched music videos feature in Beta for Premium users across 11 markets including Kenya.

“So many times in my own experience and for countless others, music videos play a key role in hooking you: taking you from being a listener to leaning in and becoming a fan,” says Charlie Hellman, Vice President and Head of Music Product at Spotify. “They’re an important part of so many artists’ tool kits, and it’s a natural fit for them to live in the same place that more than half a billion people choose to listen to music.”

No lies!!

The Beta launch is accompanied by a limited catalog that includes records from global artists such as Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Ice Spice, as well as local favorites like Aluna and Asake. The music video feature has been introduced in the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya.

Details about payment for this new development have not yet been disclosed, but for sure, Spotify isn’t getting off its rivals’ neck.

So, if you’re in Kenya or any of the above countries, here’s how you can watch music videos on Spotify.

BTW, I and 99 other Nigerians right now 😅
